This marks the first time in three decades that Poland has introduced a plane of this type.

Developed by nearly 100 engineers at the Warsaw Institute of Aviation, the new I-45 JAY glider showcases Poland’s innovation and engineering prowess in the field of aviation, officials have said.

The prototype could soon be handed over to potential investors interested in manufacturing the aircraft, according to its makers.

During a presentation on Tuesday, Michał Owczarek spoke to Sylwester Wyka, Deputy Director for Research at the Warsaw Institute of Aviation, to find out more.
