Poland and the Czech Republic tied for the lowest jobless rate in the bloc in January, each with 2.6 percent, according to the Eurostat agency.
Meanwhile, Spain had the highest seasonally-adjusted jobless rate in the EU, at 10.4 percent, and Swedish unemployment was the second-highest at 8.7 percent, according to the latest available data.
Eurostat reported that the EU average for January was 5.8 percent, stable compared with December and down from 6.1 percent in January 2024.
Poland's statistics office (GUS), which uses a different methodology, reported last month that the Polish jobless rate rose to 5.4 percent in January, from 5.1 percent in December.
