Wages, employment up y/y in Poland in July: stats office

Average wages in Poland rose 7.4 percent in July compared with the same month last year, the country’s Central Statistical Office said on Tuesday.

The average gross Polish monthly wage in July was PLN 5,182.43 (EUR 1,187, USD 1,314), the state-run statistics agency reported.

Meanwhile, employment in Polish companies increased 2.7 percent last month on average in year-on-year terms, according to the statistical office.

The figures are for firms with more than nine employees.

The Polish economy grew 4.4 percent in the second quarter of this year, the Central Statistical Office said in a flash estimate last week.
