A memorandum of understanding was signed during a ceremony on Thursday at the Ministry of Investment and Economic Development in Warsaw by Polish Development Minister Jerzy Kwieciński and Olav Myklebust, Norway’s ambassador to Poland.

The money will be spent on projects under four programmes: Business Development and Innovation, Culture, Health, and Home Affairs.

The grants aim to reduce economic and social disparities and to strengthen bilateral relations with 15 EU countries in Central and Southern Europe and the Baltics.

The Norway Grants are financed by Norway and available in 13 EU member countries that joined the bloc in 2004, 2007 and 2013.

The EEA Grants are jointly financed by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. These grants are available to the 13 EU member countries that joined the EU and the European Economic Area in 2004, 2007 and 2013 as well as Greece and Portugal.

Poland is currently the largest beneficiary country of the EEA and Norway Grants.
