The project to build the pipeline is part of Warsaw’s efforts to diversify gas supplies and reduce the country’s energy dependence on Russia.
Under the deal signed by Polish gas grid operator Gaz-System, over 23,000 pipes will be delivered by German company Europipe GmbH.
Officials did not disclose the value of the contract.
The pipes will be 900 mm in diameter and covered with a special anti-corrosive coating, state news agency PAP reported.
The Polish government’s pointman on strategic energy infrastructure, Piotr Naimski, said on Thursday that the project was proceeding according to schedule and would be completed on time.
The Baltic Pipe has a completion date set for October 2022.
Polish President Andrzej Duda last year described the pipeline as "a strategic project for Poland’s energy transformation, as well as for the energy security of the entire Central and Eastern Europe region."
