The bank has forecast that next year Poland’s economy will expand 3.3 percent, and 3.1 percent in 2022, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
Filip Kochan from the World Bank said it expected the 2019 reading for Polish GDP growth to be 4.3 percent.
He added that the forecast slowdown this year would result from factors including weaker eurozone economies.
Paweł Samecki, a member of the board of Poland’s central bank, said that amid a slowdown in Europe, the Polish economy was performing well.
He said that exports of goods remained high, and exports of services were continuing to grow.
The Polish economy grew 3.9 percent in the third quarter of 2019, according to the country’s Central Statistical Office.
In 2018, Poland’s GDP grew 5.1 percent.
The European Commission in early November lowered its forecast for Polish economic growth this year and next.
