Meanwhile, average wages in Poland's corporate sector in May decreased by 3.1 percent from April, while rising 1.2 percent compared with the same month a year earlier, the state-run statistics agency reported.
The average gross Polish monthly wage last month was PLN 5,119.94 (EUR 1,147, USD 1,289), according to the statistical office.
One in eight Polish companies have laid off staff and almost one in five have cut wages amid the coronavirus crisis, according to a survey.
The Polish labour minister said this month that some 5 million jobs have been saved in Poland thanks to measures including a massive relief and stimulus package that aims to shield the economy from the coronavirus.
By Wednesday, Poland had reported a total of 30,701 coronavirus infections and 1,286 deaths from the COVID-19 respiratory disease.
Poland’s labour ministry has estimated that unemployment in the country rose to 6 percent in May, from 5.8 percent in April and 5.4 percent in March.
