The kickoff is planned for next Thursday, May 26, state news agency PAP reported.
Waldemar Buda, Poland’s minister for development and technology, told reporters on Tuesday that state-guaranteed mortgages would be made more accessible to the public amid rising inflation.
State-guaranteed mortgages
Under the programme, the government will guarantee between 10 and 20 percent of the value of a mortgage loan, up to PLN 100,000 (EUR 21,500). The state guarantee means that the borrower does not have to pre-pay this part of the loan.

Moreover, Poland’s development bank BGK will cover part of the mortgage if the family expands (PLN 20,000, or around EUR 4,300, if a second child is born and PLN 60,000, or EUR 12,900, if a third or further child is born).
This second measure will be available even for those who do not apply for state guarantees for their mortgage, officials said.
More dwellings to be covered by the programme
Finally, the government has raised the maximum price of a home that can be bought with the state-guaranteed mortgage, boosting the pool of dwellings available to the participants in the programme, reporters were told.
“The programme is targeted mainly at those who are living in rented accommodation today,” Buda told a news conference.
