India, China, and Malaysia continue to lead as the world’s most attractive destinations for offshore services, according to the 2023 Global Services Location Index by management consulting firm Kearney.
Meanwhile, Poland, Canada and Singapore are among the top emerging technology destinations for establishing innovation hubs, the PAP news agency reported.
"Several Asia Pacific countries—India, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand—are in the top 10 due to a strong focus on building digital skills, the adoption of emerging technologies, and government support for developing digital skills," said Rahul Lele, co-author of the report.
"We have also witnessed some remarkable strides from countries such as Poland, Hungary, and the UK, which are emerging as beacons of financial attractiveness and skills availability in Europe," he added.
Kearney said it evaluated 78 countries for its 2023 Global Services Location Index based on criteria including corporate input, current remote services activity, and government initiatives to promote the sector.
Countries were judged against 52 metrics across four major categories: financial attractiveness, people skills and availability, business environment, and digital resonance, the company said on its website.
