The EU's statistics agency unveiled the latest data on Thursday.
Poland ranked 19th in EU in GDP per head
Poland's GDP per capita represented 79% of the EU average in 2022, up from 77% in 2021, putting the country 19th among the EU's 27 member states, according to officials.
Luxembourg had the biggest GDP per head in 2022, at 256% of the EU average, followed by Ireland (235%) and Denmark (136%), Eurostat reported.
Poland ranked 14th in EU in consumption per head
Meanwhile, Poland's level of actual individual consumption reached 87% of the EU average in 2022, up from 85% in 2021, placing the country 14th in the EU league table, alongside Slovenia and Portugal, according to the study.
Luxembourg came first, with individual consumption levels at 138% of the EU average, followed by Austria and Germany on 118%, officials told reporters.
While GDP is mainly an "indicator of the level of economic activity," actual individual consumption (AIC) is an alternative indicator, better adapted to describe the "material welfare of households," Eurostat said.
