Poland's Czesław Siekierski and Krzysztof Hetman will speak with the EU's Valdis Dombrovskis via video link, public broadcaster Polish Radio's polskieradio24.pl website reported.

The Commission is seeking to extend the EU-Ukraine free trade agreement until June 2025, to help Kyiv amid the ongoing Russian invasion, according to officials.

Meanwhile, Poland has appealed for the deal to exclude such products as sugar, poultry meat and eggs; or at least to make possible emergency bans, in the event of market disturbances, polskieradio24.pl reported.

For its part, Brussels is expecting Poland and Ukraine to agree on the issuance of export licences, according to news outlets.

Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk is expected to visit Kyiv "in the coming days" for talks with Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky, including on trade, polskieradio24.pl reported.

Monday is day 691 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, launching the largest military campaign in Europe since World War II.
