Next week, with the August long weekend approaching in Poland, most tourists are anticipated to flock to mountain destinations, based on data from Nocowanie.pl.
If the weather cooperates, places like Zakopane, Kudowa-Zdrój, and Karpacz are expected to be the top choices for Polish travelers, even though accommodation rates there are higher than those at seaside resorts (with averages of 89 PLN per night in Zakopane and over 100 PLN in Kudowa-Zdrój).
One-day tourism made in Poland
Despite the increase in bookings this season, Polish hoteliers are disappointed as short bookings and weekend crowds have not improved the situation. In popular places like Kołobrzeg, Jastarnia, and Władysławowo, hotel occupancy is high mainly on weekends, while many properties remain empty during the week.
One noticeable trend in summer 2024 tourism in Poland is the significant rise in the popularity of short, one-day trips. Poles prefer to travel more frequently but with much shorter stays, opting for one-day excursions. This has led to a decrease in the average length of bookings this year, as many now favor single-day tourism over longer vacations.
