The reading was less upbeat than forecast by analysts, who had expected industrial production to increase 7.5 percent last month, Poland's PAP news agency reported.
In month-on-month terms, Polish industrial production in July was 3.3 percent lower than in June, the Statistics Poland (GUS) agency said on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the country's seasonally-adjusted industrial production went up by 2.2 percent in year-on-year terms in July, while decreasing 0.2 percent month on month, the state-run statistics office reported.
According to the European Union’s Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, seasonally-adjusted industrial production rose by 1.1 percent in Poland in June, compared with the same month last year.
