The Czech Republic boasted the lowest jobless rate in the bloc in July, at 2.7 percent, while Malta trailed Poland in third place, with 3 percent, according to the Eurostat agency.
Meanwhile, Spain had the highest seasonally-adjusted jobless rate in the EU, at 11.5 percent, and Greek unemployment was the second-highest at 9.9 percent, according to the latest available data.
Eurostat reported that the EU average for July was 6 percent, unchanged from June and stable compared with July 2023.
Poland's statistics office (GUS), which uses a different methodology, reported this month that the Polish jobless rate inched up to 5 percent in July, from 4.9 percent in June.
