It said Poland’s bid was approved by the General Assembly of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) during this year's event in Milan, Italy, which drew more than 11,000 participants.

The vote by several hundred federation members, including international space agencies, universities, companies and NGOs, marked a major achievement for the Polish space sector, POLSA said.

The 2025 International Astronautical Congress will be held in Poland's western city of Poznań with support from the Polish government, it added.

"We would like to thank everyone for their support and get down to work on this prestigious event, which is vital for our country and the entire Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region," POLSA said in a statement.
