The results of the poll, conducted for Polish newspaper Super Express, come in the wake of President Andrzej Duda's veto against a legislative amendment intended to ease access to ulipristal acetate, a hormonal contraceptive, for individuals over the age of 15.
The presidential veto, issued at the end of March, was grounded in the absence of "convincing arguments" during the legislative process to justify the over-the-counter availability of contraceptive drugs, according to a statement from the President's Office.
The survey also said that 38 percent disagreed with over-the-counter availability, and 8 percent remained undecided.
The poll was carried out on April 3-4, 2024, encompassing a representative sample of 1,043 adult Poles.
