The center is operated by the Nomada Association, an organization that has been offering legal and psychological assistance to non-EU nationals for over a decade.
The counseling center aims to provide professional and free legal advice to those in need.
"This is a place where we will welcome people on the move, those in need, migrants, and refugees who require support. It's a legal counseling point open to everyone," said Nina Ptak, Vice President of the association, during the opening ceremony.
Michał Brokos, a board member of the association, emphasized that the center offers help with residency legalization, legal consultations, and information services.
"We have a qualified staff. Our specialists will also provide psychological assistance to both adults and children. A crucial part of our mission is to support individuals who have experienced violence motivated by prejudice or gender-based violence," Brokos explained.
Most of those seeking help from Nomada are from Ukraine and Belarus, but there are also migrants from the Middle East, Afghanistan, and increasingly from South America.
"They come to Poland and often fall victim to scams by employment agencies. These individuals experience exploitation and forced labor and come to us for help," said Maciej Mandelt of the Nomada Association.
