By running a 10 km course through Wrocław Zoo this Sunday, October 6, participants can not only improve their own health but also support endangered animal species from the Indochinese Peninsula, which are at risk of extinction due to poaching and the expansion of agricultural and textile corporations in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.
This year’s event benefits six organizations focused on protecting biodiversity in the region, including initiatives to conserve species like the silver-backed chevrotain, pangolins, gibbons, hornbills, and primates.
There will be plenty of surprises for runners. Those who show a sense of humor and creativity by dressing up in animal costumes will have the chance to win various prizes, including an annual pass to Wrocław Zoo.
For Wrocław residents, taking part in a charity run to help wild animals is nothing new. Wild Run is a recurring event held on weekends around World Animal Day.
The event is celebrating its eighth edition in 2024. Since 2017, over 7,000 runners have participated, raising more than 322,000 PLN (74,600 EUR) to help our animal friends.
Participants who cannot make it to Wrocław can join Wild Run 2024 virtually by running the 10 km route from anywhere in the world.
