Growth in Polish tourism: new visitor stats revealed

The number of tourists in Poland reached 4.75 million in August 2024, up from 4.2 million during the same period last year, as reported by the Central Statistical Office (GUS).

According to the latest data, from January to August 2024, the total number of tourists reached 26.06 million, compared to 24.69 million during the same period in 2023.

In August alone, the number of foreign tourists was 967,150, up from 791,720 in August of the previous year.

For the January to August period, the total number of foreign tourists was 5.18 million, an increase from 4.76 million in the same timeframe in 2023.

The Central Statistical Office (GUS) reported a 6.4% increase in border traffic to and from Poland in 2023 compared to 2022. Of all border crossings, foreigners made up the majority at 56.6%.

In 2023, there were 22.1 million border checks recorded at the EU's external land borders with Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine, marking a 5.3% increase compared to 2022.
