Tomasz Siemoniak, the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration, confirmed that the suspect was transported to Warsaw, where prosecutors will handle the case.
Owsiak had previously revealed on social media that he had received threats, including references to bombs and personal harm.
Aspirant Kamik Sobótka from the Warsaw Police Headquarters told the Polish tabloid Fakt that the head of WOŚP could be granted police protection, but Jerzy Owsiak declined the offer.
In a statement, Owsiak accused right-wing media outlets, including Telewizja Republika and the online portal wPolsce24, of perpetuating "a spiral of lies and hatred."
He also criticized their behavior after journalists from one of these outlets entered WOŚP’s headquarters without permission and broadcast a live video, prompting the foundation to ban their access to its premises.

These accusations, fueled by conservative media and politicians, have drawn widespread criticism, including from former Prime Minister Donald Tusk, who defended WOŚP as an organization dedicated to helping children with cancer and other diseases.
