Poles favour Italians, Americans, disapprove of Russians, Belarusians: survey

A new survey finds that Poles hold Italians in high regard among nations, followed by Americans, Spaniards, Czechs and Britons.

Meanwhile, Russians top the list of disliked nations, with Belarusians also facing strong disapproval, pollster CBOS said.

Sixty percent of respondents expressed a positive view of Italians, while 58 percent felt the same about Americans.

Thirty-three percent expressed favourable opinions about Germans and 30 percent said they had warm feelings about Ukrainians.

In contrast, 72 percent held negative sentiments toward Russians, and 48 percent disapproved of Belarusians.

The study, conducted from January 9 to 19, surveyed 972 respondents, Polish state news agency PAP reported.
