Home completions down in Poland in first two months of 2025

Builders in Poland completed 2.1 percent fewer homes in the first two months of this year than in the same period in 2024, the country’s statistics office reported on Thursday.

Around 30,300 housing units were completed nationwide between the start of January and the end of February, the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency said.

It added that the number of housing starts in January and February, at around 33,800 in total, was 6.8 percent lower than in the same period last year.

Meanwhile, overall output in Poland’s construction-and-assembly sector remained stable in February in year-on-year terms, while increasing by 7.5 percent month on month, the state-run statistics agency also reported.

Builders completed around 200,400 new homes in Poland last year, a decrease of 9.4 percent from 2023, Statistics Poland said in an estimate earlier this month.
