On Friday, deputy lower-house Speaker Piotr Zgorzelski announced that the Sejm Presidium, a body made up of the Speaker and his deputies, had decided that Kaczyński and Iwona Arent, who he said provoked the incident, would lose half of their salaries for three months.
Additionally, 49 other PiS lawmakers, who were identified as shouting "murderer," will lose half of their salaries for two months.
When asked by reporters if he would apologize for his words, Kaczyński said he would "absolutely not" and added: "I hope I will repeat them."
Giertych, meanwhile, called on PiS lawmakers to "reconsider their actions," saying that "such words should never be directed at anyone" and expressing concern for his children's feelings.
Skrzypek, a longtime Kaczyński aide, was questioned on March 12 in an investigation related to a PiS-linked company and its controversial investment plans. Three days later, Skrzypek died of a heart attack, an autopsy revealed.
