"I am Grzegorz Braun's sister, and I am ashamed of what he is doing," Monika Braun wrote in an article for Tygodnik Powszechny.
"For years, I believed in 'not dirtying one's own nest,' so I remained silent, unsure where the line should be drawn. But now, that line has been crossed," she continued, referring to her brother’s actions, including extinguishing a menorah lit for Hanukkah with a fire extinguisher in the Polish parliament - an incident that drew global attention.
Monika Braun publicly criticized her brother for his transformation from a "gentle, kind blond boy" into a "brutal" man who easily resorts to violence and shows contempt for anything that doesn’t align with his worldview.
She expressed shame over his actions, describing him as someone who believes he knows everything and acts as a self-appointed judge.
Braun also condemned his recent attack on Dr. Gizela Jagielska in Oleśnica and highlighted his hostility toward women, immigrants, Jews, left-wing thinkers, feminists, LGBTQ individuals, and atheists.

Polish prosecutors review far-right MEP’s remarks during presidential debate
On Tuesday, Warsaw prosecutors began reviewing antisemitic comments made by Grzegorz Braun during a presidential debate held the previous evening.
The case was opened ex officio, though no formal investigation has yet been launched, officials told Polish Radio. If prosecutors pursue the matter as incitement against a group, Grzegorz Braun could face up to three years in prison.
Left-wing candidate Magdalena Biejat also plans to file a complaint over his claim that wearing a daffodil to honor the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising was “shameful” - a comment that prompted rival candidate Rafał Trzaskowski to walk off the stage in protest.
