Radio Day in Poland was marked on April 11, underlining the importance of a medium which, despite severe competition, is still a favourite source of information for many.

The day commemorates the signing of a document in 1923 that paved the way to the country's first trial broadcast, which came two years later on February 1, 1925.
Polish Radio started regular broadcasting on April 18, 1926.
