Mourners paid their last respects to the teenager, who was named only as Natalia, at her funeral ceremony on Tuesday, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

Natalia's family, high-school friends, and the people of Andrychów of all ages gathered at the town's snow-covered municipal cemetery, according to news outlets.

Natalia was found unresponsive in a state of hypothermia near one of Andrychów's supermarkets on November 28, the PAP news agency reported.

Hours earlier, her father had reported the girl's disappearance to the police.

She was taken to a hospital but doctors could not save her. She died from a brain hemorrhage, according to forensic medicine experts.

The chief of police in the Małopolska region had ordered disciplinary proceedings over possible "procedural negligence" in the police search for Natalia, the PAP news agency reported.
