A successful mission facilitated by the Ukrainian airline led to the safe return of Polish citizens from Lebanon. The flight, which traveled from Beirut to Rzeszów near the Polish-Ukrainian border, carried a total of 179 passengers, comprising 134 Ukrainians, 16 Poles, 6 Czechs, 9 Lithuanians, 12 Moldovans, 2 Lebanese, and a Brazilian.

This marks the third Ukrainian evacuation effort of this kind since the beginning of September, with the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressing gratitude to Poland and SkyUp Airlines for their support and assistance.

Since the Russian aggression against Ukraine, the airline has suspended its operations, focusing solely on aircraft leasing services.

As confirmed by Andrzej Szejna, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, 16 out of approximately 500 Polish citizens currently in Lebanon have been flown back to Poland.

In a comment to the Polish state news agency PAP, the politician emphasized that this humanitarian effort arises from cooperation with allies, including Ukraine, and is not executed unilaterally but is coordinated collectively.

Given the ongoing conflict in the region, Szejna reiterated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' appeal to Polish citizens to avoid traveling to Israel, Lebanon, and the Gaza Strip.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that, as a result of Israeli attacks in Lebanon, 55 people have died and 156 have been injured.
