Research shows that one-third of Poles accept physical punishment for children, while 79% of kids and teens have experienced violence. The campaign aims to raise awareness and encourage legislative solutions to combat aggression against minors.
The official launch of this initiative in the Polish Parliament was announced by Speaker of the Sejm Szymon Hołownia and Senate Marshal Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, in the presence of Minister of Education Barbara Nowacka.
The campaign will culminate in November. On the World Day for the Prevention of and Healing from Child Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Violence, buildings across Poland will be illuminated in red to protest against child abuse.
Representatives of the Polish government will then present the key actions that have been taken to protect children from violence.
