What started as a routine day quickly turned into a nightmare as the woman, observing a herd of deer peacefully crossing the road, was suddenly charged by one of the animals.

“I felt this strong impact out of nowhere,” she said after treatment for multiple injuries. “It hit me with its antlers, not once but twice, and knocked me flat to the ground. I can’t believe this happened in the middle of town. Imagine if it had been a mother with a stroller—who knows what could have happened?”

Local officials say the deer, emboldened by locals and tourists who feed them, are now venturing dangerously close to populated areas.

New signs have been installed, warning against feeding the animals, and authorities are considering further measures to prevent more close encounters with the town’s wild neighbors.
