Ryszard Kapuściński was the author of numerous reports on key political events of the 20th century, especially from Africa and Latin America. His books, such as The Emperor and The Soccer War, combined literary style with deep social and political analysis, earning international acclaim.
This year, 40 years after submitting the manuscript for publication, his book was released posthumously, after being banned by the communist authorities in Poland at the time.
