Exceptional conditions for the Aurora Borealis were present in the Northern Hemisphere, making it visible over Poland from Wednesday to Thursday night, as confirmed by TVN Meteo.

Ideal conditions for observing the Northern Lights were present in Poland on April 16 and 17, 2025.

Karol Wójcicki, a science popularizer who shares his knowledge on the famous Polish Facebook page "Z głową w gwiazdach," predicted the phenomenon would appear quickly and offered tips on how to spot it.

The aurora was visible from the southern Tatra Mountains to the northern Baltic Sea, with internet users flooding social media with spectacular photos of this breathtaking phenomenon.

Wójcicki stated that due to the recent strong geomagnetic storm, exceptional conditions for observing the aurora occurred last night, making it possible to spot the phenomenon from nearly every corner of Poland – from Suwałki (in the northeast) to the Bieszczady Mountains (in the southeast), and from the Baltic Sea (in the north) to Silesia (in the southwest).
