The 19-year-old Pole, ranked world No. 18 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), eased past the Swiss player 6-3, 6-2 in their semifinal clash on Friday.

The rising Polish tennis star now awaits the winner of the second semifinal between Switzerland's Belinda Bencic and American qualifier Coco Gauff.

Earlier in the tournament, the Polish player defeated Madison Brengle of the United States and Australian Maddison Inglis.

She reached the semifinals after beating American Danielle Collins, who retired in the second set due to a back injury, trailing 2-6, 0-3 in their quarterfinal match on Thursday.

Świątek reached the fourth round of the women’s singles at this year's Australian Open, where she lost to Romania's Simona Halep.

The Polish teenager in October won the French Open, claiming her maiden Grand Slam title and becoming the first Pole to lift a Grand Slam singles trophy.
