The Pole and the American edged past the Czech Republic’s Lucie Hradecka and Laura Siegemund of Germany 7-6, 7-6 in their third-round clash on Sunday.

Linette and Pera will next face either the American-Dutch duo of Nicole Melichar and Demi Schuurs or Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Kazakhstan's Elena Rybakina for a place in the semifinals.

Earlier on Sunday, Poland’s Iga Świątek and Bethanie Mattek-Sands of the United States booked their place in the women’s doubles quarterfinals in Paris, with a 5-7, 6-4, 7-5 win over top-seeds Hsieh Su-wei of Taiwan and Elise Mertens of Belgium.

Poland’s Świątek on Saturday reached the fourth round of the 2021 French Open women's singles after a 7-6, 6-0 victory against Anett Kontaveit of Estonia.

Poland's Linette, meanwhile, crashed out of the French Open singles on Saturday, after losing 6-3, 0-6, 1-6 to Tunisia's Ons Jabeur in the third round.

Twenty-year-old Świątek, who is defending her singles title in Paris, will on Monday play Ukraine's Marta Kostiuk for a place in the women's singles quarterfinals.

Świątek won last year's French Open to claim her maiden Grand Slam title and become the first Pole to lift a Grand Slam singles trophy.
