The Polish goal machine, who plays for Bayern and also captains Poland’s national squad, found the back of the net in the 35th, 70th and 84th minutes of the game.

Lewandowski has scored five goals from three games in the German Bundesliga this season and leads the table among the division’s top scorers.

He has now scored in 13 Bundesliga games in a row and at least once in each of his last 16 official matches for Bayern, beating the former Bayern great Gerd Müller's historic record of 15 consecutive official matches in 1969 and 1970.

The 32-year-old was last month named Footballer of the Year in Germany for the second time in a row by leading sports magazine KickerThe award, which Lewandowski picked up on Saturday, added to a long list of accolades for the Polish marksman.

The Polish star striker last season bagged 41 goals in the German Bundesliga, breaking a long-standing league record by the late Gerd Müller.
