The 24-year-old Polish player, who is world No. 13 and the top seed in Metz, will now face Germany's Peter Gojowczyk for a place in the championship match.

Hurkacz had earlier booked his place in the semifinals of the men’s doubles competition at the Moselle Open, partnering with countryman Jan Zieliński.

The Polish duo will play Finland's Henri Kontinen and Japan's Ben McLachlan for a spot in the final on Saturday.
