Tennis: Poland’s Linette through to 3rd round of Miami Open

Poland’s Magda Linette has made it through to the third round of the Miami Open tennis tournament in the US state of Florida.

The 30-year-old Pole, ranked world No. 19 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), saw off Russian player Evgeniya Rodina 6-3, 6-4 in their second-round encounter on Thursday night.

The 2023 Miami Open runs until April 2.

Poland's world No. 1 Iga Świątek, last year's Miami Open champion, has withdrawn from the tournament due to a rib injury.
