Her win turned out to be much quicker than planned, following an unfortunate calf injury sustained by her opponent Ons Jabeur, from Tunisia.
The match was cut short after only three games, as Jabeur had to withdraw due to her injury.
Świątek took the lead by winning the first game, which was closely followed by Jabeur showing signs of a calf injury in the last point of the game, and calling for a medical timeout.
Though Jabeur returned to the court with her leg taped, she was not playing at her best, which led Świątek to win the next two games with ease before Jabeur decided to retire.
Świątek demonstrated great sportsmanship by consoling her injured opponent at the net.
In the final game Świątek, who defends the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix title, will compete against Aryna Sabalenka from Belarus in what will be a repeat of last year's final.
