The world number 1 Iga Świątek has lost to Aryna Sabalenka - 6:3, 3:6, 6:3 - in the final of the Madrid Open.

Sabalenka has in some measure made up for the last month's defeat by Świątek in straight sets (6-3, 6-4) in Stuttgart.
