The Pole and the Italian beat Americans Nathaniel Lammons and Jackson Withrow 6-4, 5-7, 11-9 in the first round on Wednesday.
In the second round, Hurkacz and Sinner will face Frenchmen Fabien Reboul and Sadio Doumbia.
Earlier this week, Hurkacz booked his place in the second round of the men’s singles in Halle.
He will play Australian James Duckworth for a place in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
Two years ago, Hurkacz won the men's singles in Halle. He is currently ranked ninth in the world.
Sinner, meanwhile, is the current men's singles world No. 1.
The 2024 Halle Open runs until Sunday.
