The game kicks off at 8:45 p.m. at the National Stadium in Warsaw, with the Polish team needing at least a draw to keep its place in the top tier of the Nations League.

The Poles, captained by Inter Milan midfielder Piotr Zieliński, aim to redeem themselves in front of the home crowd after a devastating 1-5 loss to Portugal in their previous Nations League fixture.

Manager Michał Probierz's men head into the match without their star striker Robert Lewandowski and several other key players sidelined by injuries.

Poland are ranked 31st worldwide by football's governing body FIFA, while Scotland are No. 51 in the FIFA table.

The Polish team defeated the Scots 3-2 in Glasgow in their Nations League opener on September 5.

After five rounds of fixtures, Poland sit third in their Nations League Group A1 with four points, ahead of last-place Scotland on goal difference. Group leaders Portugal have 12 points, while Croatia are in second with seven.

The Nations League is the European football governing body UEFA’s newest national-team competition that is now in its fourth edition.

Portugal won the first edition of the Nations League in 2019, while France won the 2020/2021 UEFA Nations League, and Spain triumphed in the 2022/2023 edition.
