Starting Tuesday, the World Swimming Championships will feature athletes like Jan Kałusowski, a two-time European Championship medalist from Belgrade, who won bronze in the 200m breaststroke and silver in the 4x100m medley relay.

Kacper Stokowski, who trains in the United States, also has a strong chance for a good result.

Polish swimmer a favorite at the World Championships?

Katarzyna Wasick of Poland has posted the best time in the women’s 50m freestyle during the 25m pool qualifying round and is a strong contender to compete for the top podium against Americans Kate Douglass and Gretchen Walsh, as well as Australians Alexandria Perkins and Meg Harris.

The competition among female swimmers will be fierce. According to World Aquatics, Gretchen Walsh has broken a 14-year-old World Record in the Women's 50m Butterfly with an impressive time of 24.02, surpassing the previous record of 24.38 set by Therese Alshammar on November 22, 2009.

This is the largest Polish delegation ever sent to the Swimming World Championships. In previous editions, Poland earned a total of 28 medals – 4 gold, 7 silver, and 17 bronze.

Over the six-day competition, the world’s best swimmers will compete in 45 events, with the final taking place on Sunday, December 15.
