Poland powers into United Cup final after 3-0 win over Kazakhstan

Poland stormed into the final of the United Cup mixed-teams tennis tournament in Australia after beating Kazakhstan 3-0 in the last four on Saturday.

Maja Chwalińska and Jan Zieliński sealed the clean sweep for Team Poland, defeating the Kazakh pairing of Zhibek Kulambayeva and Alexander Shevchenko 6-4, 6-1 in the mixed doubles.

Earlier, Hubert Hurkacz bested Shevchenko 6-3, 6-2 in the men's singles, and world No. 2 Iga Świątek outplayed Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina 7-6, 6-4 in the women's singles, securing an insurmountable lead for Poland.

Poland will face the United States in the final of the mixed-teams competition in Sydney.

The match will mark Poland's second straight United Cup final after its runner-up finish to Germany last year.

The United Cup serves as a warm-up event for the Australian Open Grand Slam tournament, which is set to begin in Melbourne on January 12.
