Meanwhile, Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz has crashed out of the Australian Open after losing 4-6, 4-6, 2-6 to Serbia's Miomir Kecmanović in the second round of the men's singles, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
Świątek reached the third round of the women’s singles at last year's Australian Open, where she was eliminated by Linda Nosková of the Czech Republic.
The 2025 Australian Open runs until January 26.
