Świątek secured a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Navarro in the Australian Open quarterfinals, marking her second career win against the American (the first came in Charleston in 2018).
Despite the seemingly lopsided score, the match was not without challenges. In the second set, Navarro improved her serve and kept the contest competitive until Świątek broke her at a critical moment.
A controversial moment involving a double bounce in the fifth game of the second set also influenced the match. With this win, Świątek tied her career-best result in Melbourne and booked a spot in the semifinals against Madison Keys.
Świątek has been dominant throughout the tournament, spending under six hours on court and dropping just 14 games in her five matches.
