Piotr Zieliński, appeared on the pitch for Inter in the 70th minute on Saturday. However, just a minute later he fell to the ground without making contact with his opponent and grimaced in pain as he held his calf. He was subbed-out a moment later.

"We are not in a good mood here" - replied Inter manager Simone Inzaghi when asked about the Polish player's health at the post-match conference. The Nerazzurri gaffer added that the Pole will undergo detailed medical tests at the beginning of the week, after which it will be clear how long he will be out of action.

According to unofficial information, Zieliński will definitely not return to play before the international break, and it is possible that his recovery will take much longer. This would exclude him from the World Cup qualifiers against Lithuania on 21.03 and Malta on 24.03 in Warsaw, in which he was supposed to lead Poland's midfield and cross the 100-game mark for Poland.

"Inter fears that the Polish midfielder's absence will be medium- or long-term. And this comes at a time when the club's match load will be the greatest" - one of the unofficial websites of the Milanese club reported.

Another Inter's Polish international, Nicola Zalewski, missed Saturday's game due to injury. And Poland's upcoming midfield star playing for Monza, Kacper Urbański, spent the entire match against the Nerazzurri on the bench.
