"Stuttgart is a special place for me, both because of the wonderful memories I have here and because, after several weeks in the United States, I’ll be closer to home. I’m also excited to see so many Polish fans," Świątek said at a press conference.
The Polish tennis star has won the WTA tournament in Stuttgart twice, in 2022 and 2023. While her results in 2025 have not lived up to expectations, with little chance of reclaiming the world No. 1 ranking in the near future, she has the chance to win her first title of the season in Stuttgart.
The match between Świątek and Fett is scheduled to begin at 17:00 CEST (4 p.m. local time in Poland) on Wednesday.
Earlier, at around 14:15 CEST, Magdalena Fręch will face Italy’s Sara Errani on the same court.
