Polish tennis players - Magdalena Fręch and Magda Linette both rose in the WTA rankings, primarily due to a significant drop for American Danielle Collins, who failed to defend her title in Charleston.
Poland now has three players in the WTA Top 30, joining the U.S. (with five players) and Russia (with four) as the only countries with more representation in the top tier.
Iga Świątek remains at No. 2, with Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka still leading the rankings. Jessica Pegula, who won the Charleston title, moved up to No. 3, while her fellow American Coco Gauff dropped to No. 4.
Magdalena Fręch rose two places to No. 28, and Magda Linette moved up one spot to No. 30. Maja Chwalińska stayed at No. 121.
However, Katarzyna Kawa made the biggest jump, climbing 67 places to No. 156 after a strong showing in Bogota, where she reached the final. She lost to Colombia's Camila Osorio 6-3, 6-3 in the final, but the result boosted her ranking significantly.
Despite the loss in the final, Kawa is the first Polish tennis player to reach a WTA final this season.
