Meanwhile, Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz bowed out of the men's singles in Melbourne after losing to Sweden's Mikael Ymer 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 5-7, 3-6 in the first round on Tuesday.
The 2021 Australian Open runs until February 21.
