Lewandowski crossed the finish line second. But first-placed Jakob Ingebrigtsen of Norway was disqualified for putting his foot outside the track when he lost his balance on the first bend.
That decision means that Lewandowski has defended his indoor championship title from two years ago in Glasgow.
Polish shot putter Haratyk finished runner-up with a best effort of 21.47m. Czech Tomáš Staněk bested him by 15cm to take the gold.

The 2021 European Athletics Indoor Championships kicked off in the north-central Polish city of Toruń on Thursday evening.
Poland topped the medals table at the last two European indoor championships and are looking to follow suit for a third time at the Toruń Arena venue.
