The Warsaw club, managed by Czesław Michniewicz, secured its 15th Polish Ekstraklasa championship after one of its closest rivals, Raków Częstochowa, had to settle for a goalless draw with Jagiellonia Białystok on Wednesday.

“My team is not afraid of anything; it knows how to handle pressure and has the potential to win" a lot of games domestically and internationally, Michniewicz told reporters.

“It's a well-deserved championship,” he added.

Three rounds of matches are still left to play before the Polish premier league season ends next month.

Polish football stadiums are set to reopen to spectators at 25 percent capacity in the middle of next month as the country eases coronavirus lockdown measures.
